2. Design: The saddle comprises a base, which wraps around the pipe, and a branch outlet to which the house service line is connected. The base usually has a curved shape that fits snugly against the main pipeline, while the branch outlet includes a threaded connection for easy attachment to the service line.
3. Sealing Mechanism: A rubber gasket or O-ring is typically used to provide a watertight seal between the saddle and the pipeline. When the saddle is clamped onto the pipe, the gasket compresses to prevent leaks.
4. Ease of Installation: PP service saddles are relatively easy to install. They eliminate the need for complex equipment or large-scale excavation. The installer simply wraps the saddle around the pipe and tightens the bolts or clamps, securing it in place.
